Tenth Bali Global Warming Conference Ends with Historic Agreement
Bali Global Warming Conference: 2027
|
|
The tenth global warming conference in Bali
(Bali-X) concluded today with a new agreement to negotiate a roadmap
for future talks on eventually reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
United Nations delegates hailed the agreement as an historic step to
prevent future global warming. |
(Bali - Dec. 18, 2027) Twenty years after the first Bali global warming
conference, delegates from around the world attending the tenth Bali
conference (Bali-X) today put the finishing touches on a new agreement
to negotiate future reductions in manmade greenhouse gas emissions.
According to all UN-certified scientists, those emissions are predicted
to once again cause global warming, just as was experienced thirty
years ago.
The United Nations Earth Czar, Al Gore, hailed the Bali-X agreement as
a critical step in global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
"Today, we have continued the long tradition of cooperation that has
maintained agreements enabling negotiations which provide a basis for
future talks", announced His Excellency. "We have renewed hope that the
difficult, but historic, scientific consensus that was reached almost
twenty years ago will not have been in vain."
As in previous years, the U.N. conference was the target of some
criticism for neglecting mounting scientific evidence that climate
change is a largely natural phenomenon. A minority of non-UN-certified
climate scientists once again pointed to global temperatures that have
continued their slow decline for the past thirty years. All of these
comments were made anonymously due to their illegality under anti-green
hate speech laws.
"Yes, global temperatures have fallen", admitted Mr. Gore in private,
"but as we all know, this spurious cooling trend will suddenly change
to rapid warming…possibly as early as next month. I am told by our UN
scientists that we now have less than ten years to avert a global
inferno of cataclysmic proportions."
Once again, the Canadian delegation expressed some concern that the
world's cooling trend might not end soon enough. Pointing to the ice
sheet in northern Canada that has now survived through thirteen summers
without melting, the Canadians warned that some towns in the far north
might have to be abandoned as the ice sheet continues its expansion
southward.
Particularly hard hit by the advancing ice sheet have been the women
and children of environmentalist families that poured into the
Northwest Territories from the United States during the Great Green
Exodus of 2008. The encroaching mass of ice has already destroyed the
coastal resorts that were prematurely built on the shores of the Arctic
Ocean in anticipation of warming temperatures.
Frequently the target of the anti-green fringe, Mr. Gore once again was
the subject of some criticism for his carbon offset business, the value
of which now exceeds $2 trillion.
Gore's acquisition of Google Inc. to form Google Green back in 2014 is
still lamented by some internet purists. Google Green advertisements
continue to dominate websites around the world with the familiar Google
Green logo. Anti-green demonstrators were sometimes heard outside the
conference center chanting "Bring Back Coke", an obvious reference to
Mr. Gore's central role in coordinating the international ban on
carbonated drinks in 2016.
Marring the Bali conference for the first time this year were thousands
of arrests for alleged anti-green hate speech crimes. Many conference
observers expected this as the inevitable result of last year's U.N.
Global Court ruling that classified anti-green rhetoric in public as a
hate crime.
Despite the usual rough spots like those experienced at previous global
warming conferences, most delegates expressed optimism that the new
agreement reached at Bali-X would eventually lead to large reductions
in carbon dioxide emissions.
As Mr. Gore boarded Green-1, the high efficiency Boeing 797 hybrid jet
(sporting a smaller version of the standard heated swimming pool), he
stated "We owe it to our children and grandchildren to pass on to them
an Earth free from human interference. Today we have taken a giant
first step in that direction." |

This is not.
Nov 09, 2009 Al Gore Encourages Civil Disobedience http://icecap.us/ By Oliver Burkeman, UK Guardian
Excerpts: Gore’s new book, Our Choice: A Plan To Solve The Climate Crisis, gives global warming deniers short shrift, and shows little concern for displays of political bipartisanship: he likens the doubters to the “birthers” intent on proving that Obama is a Kenyan - not just mavericks, but fantasists who inhabit a different version of reality.
“It’s important to change lightbulbs,” he says, in a well-burnished soundbite, “but more important to change policies and laws.” Or perhaps to break laws instead: peaceful occupations of the kind witnessed recently in the UK, he predicts, are only going to become more widespread. “Civil disobedience has an honourable history, and when the urgency and moral clarity cross a certain threshold, then I think that civil disobedience is quite understandable, and it has a role to play. And I expect that it will increase, no question about it.” People sometimes express incredulity that Gore, who was groomed for the presidency almost since birth, seems so resolved that he’ll never return to electoral politics. But here’s a vivid example of the benefits of life on the outside: how many serving politicians would feel able to come so close to urging people to commit trespass?
Contrary to the general consensus among activists and journalists, Gore remains optimistic about the Copenhagen talks in December - optimistic that the US Senate will pass a bill to clarify Washington’s position, arming Obama with much-needed moral authority, and thus optimistic that a worthwhile agreement, which hinges on a US commitment, will emerge from the gathering itself. “I was in China two days ago, and the premier of China asked me, in essence, why I’m optimistic that the Senate will pass legislation when the conventional wisdom says otherwise. And the answer is that I have been a part of conversations between Democrats and Republicans that give me a very different view from what the consensus is in the journalistic community.” He refers to the op-ed by South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham and Massachusetts Democrat John Kerry in the New York Times, calling for legislation to pass. “There are other surprises like that in store.”
Of the potential Copenhagen deal, Gore says, “I expect it to be far weaker than the one I would like to see. However, the important achievement [will be] to put a price on carbon, and reset expectations among business, government, NGOs and others.” He likens the situation to the Montreal Protocol on the ozone layer. “The world acted fairly quickly, but the agreement they reached was criticised for being insufficient.” Yet, he points out, when the treaty was revised, “many of the businesses that had opposed [it] were there to argue in favour of toughening it significantly. Because once they began to comply… they realised that it was not as difficult as they had feared. And once they’d made the commitment to the change, they were eager to get on with it.” It made more sense, financially and in PR terms, to go all the way instead of halfway.
Is it important for Obama to go to Copenhagen himself? “Oh yes. And I expect that he will. He hasn’t told me that he will, and no one representing him has told me that he will. But I feel certain that he will.” Read full interview here. http://3.ly/RrcPrivate Reply to Ron Sam | Nov 11, 2009 4:22 pm | | re: Bali Global Warming Conference: 2027 | # | Thomas Holford | | Ron Sam sayeth:

This is magnificent satire because it is SO CLOSE to reality.
Are you the author? It is really quite excellent.

So Al Gore wants to so global warming civil disobedience.
GOOD!
We can blame him for the wave of actions that I predict we will be seeing to give the climate Stalinists a dose of their own medicine.
I have heard "climate skeptics" and "global warming deniers" suggest, among other things, the following "actions".
It is now, or soon will be, federal law for consumers to use low energy consuming light bulbs containing toxic mercury.
If ONE of those bulbs is broken, toxic mercury is released into the environment, and special, extensive clean up procedures are required.
If multiple bulbs are broken, a hazardous materials clean up team is required, and if it happens in the home, it is the home owner's responsibility to pay for the clean up. If the mercury contaminated a carpeted area, the clean up procedures require the carpet to be removed and disposed of (i.e. buried at a EPA approved hazardous waste disposal site.) Not surprisingly, clean up of multiple broken light bulbs can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Expect the following to happen on an "Earth Day" in the not too distant future.
Oridinary citizens carrying small brown paper bags containing two or three mercury light bulbs will casually drift into the lobby of City Hall, or a similar busy government building. The ciizens will lounge in the waiting area for a few minutes, sip their starbucks coffee, read the newspaper, and then get up and leave. Their paper bags will be left behind.
After awhile, custodial staff will discover that the lobby or the waiting area is littered with dozens of broken, mercury containing light bulbs.
The building is OFFICIALLY a hazardous material disaster area and MUST BE closed down. Hazmat teams will have to called in to clean up the area.
It is inevitible that this type of protest will one day occur, and when it does it will be copied and replicated at dozens, then hundreds of public buildings and government sites.
The government will respond FIRST by making it a crime to carry a mercury light bulb into a government building. When this fails to stop the wave of actions, the government will then relax the rules and say that a hundred broken mercury light bulbs are only a "minor" event, and can be cleaned up by a janitor with a plastic trash bag and rubber gloves.
This is not "conspiricy" or a "plan" it is simply an observation on inevitable, predictable human behavior.

Thomas + others,
I did not write the satirical article. You can click the
hyperlink above or below the article to see the source. It
caught my attention immediately upon seeing the diagram with the United
Nations at the top of the triangular flow with dollars and our planet
Earth. That image says it all. It's about capturing
money and power using global warming as a ploy to scare people into
thinking there is a crisis.
There
is NO global warming Crisis.
Just read ICECAP
and you will understand the many reasons why.
The best reason is because of the Third Law of Thermodynamics.
You cannot trap
heat. You cannot trap heat on a hot day and
disperse it on a cold day. That is why we have seasons like
winter and summer. That is why we cannot save the heat of
summer and somehow dispense it on a cold winter day.
For more on this, read this Engineer's paper. Crap
and Tax
History tells us how global warming schemes have been used to usurp
power in Uganda and in Russia. It was all lies and I see a
big fat liar like Al Gore taking accolades when none are due. Al
Gore as well as others are out to make very large sums of
money over Carbon offsets. Al Gore is the man who used James
Hansen, a NASA scientist that has admitted to have skewed climate data
to fit Gore's theory on global warming (prior to Gore's Nobel prize).
I am surprised that James Hansen is still around!.
You can't stamp these liars out. The public memory
is very short.
As fars as the 2009 Copenhagen meeting goes, the big failure you are
not hearing much about is that China
and India (and other countries) will not be attending that UN Treaty
signing party because they don't agree with any of it. They
don't want to pay for carbon offsets to the UN or anyone else.
Many fundamentalist religions
attracts believers by announcing
apocalyptic calamities unless we change our ways.
if someone is aggressively selling a technical product who’s merits are
dependent on complex experimental data, he is likely lying.
Monckton_interview.pdf
-- You've got to wonder why Al Gore
will not stand on the same stage with Lord Monckton and debate in open
forum the issues of global warming. I'm not wondering at all,
Gore's a fake.

It is beyond absurd.
Carbon is the fourth most abundant element in the UNIVERSE! Oxygen is the third most abundant!
The carbon foot print of the money printed to pay for "Cap and Trade" would exceed the carbon foot print for all the human activity for which "Cap and Trade" is supposed to be the solution.
It is almost impossible to satirize something so stupid.

More relevant to us humans (on Earth), Carbon is the 11th most abundant at 0.094% of the Earth's crust. Oxygen is the most abundant at 46.71%
Everything else can be found here: http://3.ly/g3o List is sortable by abundance on Earth, et. al.
Those numbers look pretty good from a standpoint of livability on a planet, don't you think?
There is no crisis.
